Me and my partner have wanted to come here for a while and try the famous Kurdish pasty. Both of us worked at Bako previously so knew about the bakery and after watching Kermang on hairy bikers we decided to visit. Very friendly welcome, Kermang even let our small dog, Freddie inside. Pasty was very tasty, just make sure you have an empty stomach because they are very filling. Would highly recommend.

Try the Kurdish Pasty (warm) - go spicy. Thank me later. Excellent service, warm and friendly welcome from Kurmang. He clearly loves what he does, and it shows in the quality of his produce. Featured on Britain's Best Bakery - that alone should pique your interest.

Amazing experience, great bloke working behind the counter who loves what he does and some amazing baked goods.
I had the Spicy Kurdish Pasty and it was excellent - a massive, hearty, warm and filling pasty with wonderful flavour.
I also grabbed a Meat & Potato pasty for the road as well as a Sausage Roll, both of which were equally as good and filled to the brim with meat.
My partner had grabbed a couple sweet treats from the window, a gingerbread man and a chocolate brownie, in addition to a couple of the vegetarian baked goods, a Cheese & Onion Pasty and a Jamaican Vegetable Pasty, all of which were highly rated and also scored an easy 10/10 across the board.
Cash only but outstandingly cheap for the food you get, £20 in total for the two of us who ordered an abundance of food.
Highly recommend it to those in the area or just passing through.- Noise level

Kurmang is a genuinely lovely person, he took the time to speak to us and explain about what he sells. We had seen his bakery on the hairy bikers and we had a lovely chat about when they came and Kurmangs background etc. We bought two Kurdish pasties and a sausage roll for our 8 year old. He is a super fussy eater but let me tell you he ate every last crumb! Loved it!
What can I say about the Kurdish pasties!!!! Absolutely fantastic, wholesome, flavoursome, soft, tasty, not too spicy. Big compliments from my fussy eater partner too.
We came for a weekend in Wales and we just couldn't miss coming to the shop as we have done a few hairy biker calls now and will continue to follow in their footsteps too.
Thank you so much. Never had anything like it and I don't think anything could top the Kurdish pasty for a long while.- Service

(Incidentally why is is always raining here… makes the slate heaps look even more sinister!)
We stopped off with our dog on the way back to Herefordshire after a lovely week in Anglesey.
The shop was quiet, but has a lovely feeling about it - like stepping back in time! No card payments here so remember you cash!
Kurmang Was super friendly ushering us in out of the rain, and ging out dog Bert a few cuts of ham and making a fuss of him!
We tried a selection of his wonderful baked goods, the Katsu curry pastie, spinach and feta wrap and the famous spicy pastie!!! Wow, absolutely everything was delicious and the pastry, fluffyness of the pastie was unbelievable!
We’ll make all future trips in the area a detour via here for supplies!
Highly recommended for sure!- Food

Drove past and saw a queue out the door then read the really positive reviews. We visited twice on our stay here, the spicy Kurdish Pasties are the best pasties we have ever eaten! They are massive and filling and so delicious. We got there for 9am to ensure they weren't sold out. We also had huge ham baps, the ham was proper thick cut ham and absolutely divine. Nothing was too much trouble for Kermang, he was so friendly and accommodating, welcoming every customer warmly. The katsu chicken curry bake was delicious and Kermang warmed these up for us too. Can't wait to visit again and highly recommend a stop off visit here! Vegan options available too. Cash only too.- Service

The Kurdish pasties are amazing!! The pasties are huge and very well filled with meat. The selection of pasties and slices was great, so hard to choose, would love to go back and try more. The owner was super friendly to chat to. A great experience to visit this bakery

With Supermarket bread identified as ultra processed foods, having Model Bakery is a real blessing. Bought a couple of specialty loaves and was tempted by the lightly spiced vegan pastie for lunch today (I’m not even a veggie), blown away by the value (big!) and exceptional taste. Early in the week is best for selection, great product, nice chap. 👍

I got the cheese, potato and onion pasty which was amazing! The Jamaican vegetable pasty was even better, very flavourful and the pastry was very flakey. The brownie and gingerbread was scrummy! Amazing service, very friendly and the price is extremely affordable, 10/10!

We were walking down the street after getting off the Ffestiniog railway and the welcoming owner invited us in. Great decision as the spicy beef Kurdish pastie was delicious.

It's a character bakery and friendly owner! We had steak pie and lamb pie in the afternoon, (what's left) they all tasted lovely. Without artificial taste. So we came back for the signature Kurdish pasty and olive flat bread and another steak pie next day early morning.😋😋 Thanks to the Hairy bikers North Wales TV program, that made our trip have different explore, Definitely come back again!😍

We visited on the weekend and what a gem this place is!! The man running the shop is lovely and has such an interesting family history (you can tell from the shop decor😁). Try the Kurdish pasty- best thing ever!! Great value for money and a really lovely asset to the town. Would love to return again one day!
